The first step in the transformation: scanning the dashboard with EinScan-Pro
In order to design and manufacture a new dashboard cover, engineers must have 3D data from the original dashboard cover and then redesign based on 3D data.

During the operation, the engineer removed the original dashboard cover from the motorcycle and prepared to scan with EinScan-Pro.
Because the dashboard cover is black on one side and a chrome-plated high-reflection layer on one side, engineers spray a thin layer of developer onto the surface before scanning to improve the quality of the scanned data.
After the dusting is completed, the engineer placed the dashboard cover on the turntable and scanned the overall model using the automatic scan mode. Then use the fixed scan mode to sweep out a few details that are difficult to see.
The second step of the transformation: redesign
After getting the model scanned by EinScan-Pro, the engineer imported it into Autodesk's MeshMixer software. Later, the engineers downloaded the two models of cockroaches and gas masks from the Internet as materials, and also imported them into the MeshMixer software. By combining the three materials with the sculpting tool in MeshMixer, it was redesigned into a dashboard cover with a "skull mask" look.
Retrofit third step: printing & post processing

After the design is complete, the engineer imports the data into a desktop 3D printer and prints using ABS material. After the printing is completed and the support is removed, the engineer starts the grinding and painting of the model and polishes it from coarse to fine sandpaper.
After several rounds of grinding, the surface of the printed dashboard cover has been very smooth. Finally, after the engineer used the carbon mist spray to spray the model multiple times, the entire process of making the dashboard cover was completed.
This kind of cool motorcycle made Xiaobian feel for the first time. The motorcycle has really had a "magic" since then. Maybe the owner will not feel bored after a long road.
